Spending time with animals is good for our health, studies show, carrying the potential to help reduce stress and lower blood pressure. But even if you don’t have a furry friend at home, you can cuddle with a purr-fect cat at Pasadena’s Tail Town Cafe.
Partnering with the Kitten Rescue of Los Angeles, this one-of-a-kind “lounge space” allows you to make new furry friends (with 30-40 cats) — and even adopt one if you’re looking to expand your family. “When you step inside, you’re surrounded by a sea of curious cats,” says Jim Hughes, a Tail Town volunteer.
Snuggle with the Tail Town kitties because all of the interaction adds to a cat’s socialization — and makes it easier to bond with any kitty you want to take home.
But wait a meow-moment! If hanging out with cool cats is your only goal, Hughes says there are regulars who come to spend time in the cat lounge just to unwind. “Many people come by to find a special kitty to hang out with,” he says. And Tail Town has special events that combine activities and kitty time. Check out events such as Meow ‘N Paint, Kitty Bingo and Dungeons & Cats — a cat-specific version of the ever-popular Dungeons & Dragons.
